The interactive anti-romance-scam game The Gold Digger Game, now renamed Emotional Anti-Fraud Simulator, was recently released and has been warmly received by players. Its Steam reviews are rated Overwhelmingly Positive, with a 96% positive rating.

As of publication, Emotional Anti-Fraud Simulator had topped Steam's China sales chart, overtaking current hits including Black Myth: Wukong and Stellar Blade. It also ranked seventh on Steam's global top-sellers chart.

This interactive movie game was directed by Hong Kong filmmaker Mark Wu, whose previous credits include Due West: Our Sex Journey, and developed by Qianfang Studio. It uses a story-plus-choices format: decisions at key moments change the direction of the narrative and lead to different endings.

The game also includes a Mutual Support Message Board, where players can anonymously share real experiences of being deceived and collectively build an anti-fraud case library. Players have dubbed it a digital Great Wall.

Many online commentators believe the game fills a gap in emotional education for men. Through its extensive storylines and choices, it vividly unpacks romance-scam tactics involving livestream tipping, demands for luxury goods, and similar schemes. Its third-person perspective also allows players to step back as observers and reflect more deeply on real-life experiences.

Notably, producer Mark Wu's account on Bilibili was previously suspended, after which related topics were also blocked on Weibo. The precise reasons remain unclear. More recently, the game's official Bilibili account suddenly disappeared along with every video it had published; again, no reason was given.
